Sóller sits inland in a valley thick with orange and lemon trees, connected to its own little port town by a genuinely charming vintage wooden tram.
It's the easiest base for exploring the Tramuntana mountains — hiking, the Sóller–Deià coastal path, and boat trips to Sa Calobra all start from here.

Where to swim nearby
Sa Calobra & Torrent de Pareis
A dramatic gorge meeting the sea at the base of the Tramuntana. You either drive the famous switchback road (the Nus de sa Corbata) or arrive by boat from Port de Sóller — both are an experience in themselves.
Cala Deià
A small pebble cove below the village, reached down a steep path. Deep, clear water right off the rocks — one of the best swims on the west coast.
Getting there
About 35 minutes from Palma via the Sóller tunnel, or take the historic train from Palma for the scenic route.
